How did you enjoy your last study in our book, Women of the Bible? What a great woman to read about, Priscilla! What a neat lady! We have a lot in common with her. She loved spreading the gospel. She was a faithful and loving wife and worked alongside her husband in making sure the message of Christ was spread.
A great question to think on from Wednesday's reading is, "What role do you think God wants you to play in advancing the gospel?" I would love to hear from you on this and I look forward to seeing great things happen through you!
I just returned from a leadership conference in Dallas. Sheri Rose Shepherd, was the keynote speaker and she made a statement that you might like to note as I did; "How do people feel after you have been around them?" This is including your husband, children, friends, neighbors, etc. Do you encourage them, lift them up, spread joy? Or do you, leave people in a state of depression, confusion, anger, etc. That is really something to think about and work on for all of us.
A portion of the prayer from our Friday reading states, "Enable me to be like Priscilla, whose faith grew despite her surroundings. Let the ripple effect of my faith build up your church."
Can we say that about ourselves? "Enable me to be like (your name), whose faith grew despite her surroundings. Let the ripple effect of my faith build up your church." Ouch! Yep, I have some work to do!
Attached your will find a form to fill out before our Celebration on Tuesday, August 16th at 6-8:30! You have a couple of weeks to work on it. Don't do like I do sometimes, by waiting until the last minute to get it together. Then it won't mean anything. Take a portion a day and really contemplate who you are and what you have to offer the Lord! I just got chill bumps! This is going to go so well with our conference that is coming up on the 26th, "Becoming More!" I can't wait to hear what Lysa Terkeurst has to say to us about becoming more than just an average girl trying to serve God. I don't know about you, but I want my time here on earth to be so much more than just existing and going through the usual things of life! I want to be so much more and I know you do too!
